World-famous drummer Carlinhos Pandeiro de Ouro is teaching percussion downtown this summer.

The bateria is taking great shape and we're expanding classes to 3 nights a week! Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays at 8:30PM through Sept 5, with a big performance planned for September 5.

It's all free.

We hope to recruit the best players around LA to make a fantastic batucada. This is a great opportunity to meet new sambistas from around town and sharpen your playing.

Please forward this email to all Brazilian percussionists and dancers you know. (For dancers, there's a great dance studio to rehearse in, with full length mirrors and a sprung floor.)

Bring a drum, and come have fun. It's part of LA's Summer Night Lights program.

It's downtown, where the 101 meets the 110. Closest large intersection is W Temple and N Beaudry. There's street parking on Colton, and the entrance is on Colton. We rehearse in the dance studio next to the gym (people can direct you).
